Blight

A protective father and a conflicted mother discover that their newborn infant can heal others through mutual contact with water. But it comes at a price: aside from pain and resulting trauma, the child’s lifespan shortens as its aging process accelerates. When a young adolescent relative, who is terminally ill, finds out about this possibility to a second chance at life, he will try anything to get his hands on that child.

Raphaël Crombez

Raphaël Crombez studied Audiovisual Arts at LUCA School of Brussels. For his Master graduation film, he wrote and directed the short film ’Perdition County’, filmed in Wales (UK).
The film was selected for, among others, 50th Karlovy Vary Intl. Film Festival 2015 and Raphaël was chosen as one of the ’10 European Directors to Follow’ by EFP. Perdition County also won the Audience Award at Film Fest Gent 2014, along with the UPCB UBFP Press Award and VAF Wildcard at Leuven Intl. Short Film Festival 2014.
With this VAF Wildcard, Raphaël went on to write and direct his next short film ’Blight’. Raphaël is currently writing the script for his debut feature film.
